Dakota Johnson has pocketed her father's blessing if she wants to marry Chris Martin

Actress Dakota Johnson has pocketed her father's blessing to marry. Don Johnson, Dakota's father, admitted that everything had been handed over to his daughter. Currently, Dakota is in a relationship with Chris Martin, vocalist of the band Coldplay.

“If Dakota decides to marry, I imagine there will be grandchildren soon after. I'm very happy with that part," he told Rosanna Scotto, as reported by Just Jared, Tuesday, November 16, 2021.

For Don, right now what makes his daughter happy, he is happy too. Not only that, but Don also praised Chris Martin's personality. "He (Chris) is a fun guy," said the star of the Miami Vice series.

Talking a lot about his future son-in-law, Don admitted that he had talked to Martin between men. Despite the conversation, he did when he saw that Dakota and Martin's relationship was getting serious. "Well, we waited until they were comfortable with their positions, got to know each other more, and then we talked," said the 71-year-old actor.

Dakota, 32 years old, and Martin, 44 years old, were first discovered to be in a relationship when they were caught eating together at a sushi restaurant in Los Angeles, in 2017. In their relationship, Dakota and Martin choose never to share it on social media. However, the two of them are often seen on vacation together, such as in Spain, in July 2021.

Chris Martin once openly praised his girlfriend when Coldplay performed a concert in London, on October 12, 2021. At the concert, before singing his new song My Universe, Chris Martin, vocalist for Coldplay, said, “This is about My Universe, he's here, above there." Martin said that while pointing towards the balcony where his girlfriend, Dakota Johnson watched the show.

Recently to The Hollywood Reporter, Dakota admitted to keeping her private life. According to him, he will not just give away his secret to the paparazzi. "But, really, it takes a lot of effort to have a personal life," she said.

After his divorce from Gwyneth Platrow, Chris Martin had contact with Jennifer Lawrence and Annabelle Wallis. Meanwhile, Dakota has dated Jordan Masterson (2011 - 2014) and Matthew Hitt (2014 - 2016).

Nearing two years of their relationship, Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin had reportedly split. The news of the breakup of Chris and Dakota's relationship shocked his closest friends because so far the two of them seemed to be close friends. Dakota was even close to Chris' ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow when they got together for Thanksgiving 2019.
